Our personal wills, trusts and estates practice responds to our clients’ needs for estate planning and the administration of estates and trusts.
We offer counsel and guidance to families regarding the best planning strategies to pass their wealth to their loved ones and charitable beneficiaries. We recognize that reducing tax exposure is a critical component of the estate planning process, but not the only one. Our goal is to offer practical advice to create estate plans that are effective and understandable, while providing an appropriate level of sophistication.
We also guide clients through the estate and trust settlement process after the death of a family member.
Clients who are changing their residence to Florida consult with us on the mechanics of establishing Florida domicile as well as updating their estate planning documents to conform to Florida law.
We provide the basic tools for an estate plan consisting of wills, revocable trusts, power of attorneys and health care directives. We also have experience in a wide variety of other estate planning tools and techniques, such as irrevocable insurance trusts, grantor trusts, corporate structures, GRATs and QPRTs.
Once trusts have been funded, we assist in the administration of trusts on behalf of trustees or represent the interests of trust beneficiaries. Our litigation department has extensive experience in a wide variety of probate litigation matters.
